11D1 Sat: Celtic put in a battling performance at home to local rivals Verona. The sides were level at the break, even though Celtic had gone tantalisingly close to scoring in that first half. Verona took full advantage of the wind in the second half, and seized on their chances to run out winners. Rhys McLoughlin was splendid for the home side and it was his goalkeeping that almost led to Celtic getting something from this game. He was duly awarded the man of the match accolade. James Cremin again put in an amazing shift and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Marcus Clinton came on in the first half and showed some fine skills, combining well with James. Kenan Tutundzic again was focused and gave his attacking opponents little time on the ball. Olly Moore also put in a big shift at centre half before moving to the middle of the park in the second half. Kevin Balaban was excellent in that second half at the heart of the defence clearing his lines at crucial moments. Joe Martin was as ever reliable at left full back. Andrew Maguire and Seb Balaban shared the right side of midfield duties. Andrew was industrious throughout, working hard in midfield and tracking back when Verona were in attack mode. Seb battled on behalf of the team. Niall Maloney supported James in midfield and attack, but today they could not make the breakthrough which would have led to a goal. It's back to training on Monday evening at 6pm.
11E Sat: Celtic travelled away to Terenure Rangers and found themselves 1-3 down at half time. The second half was full of incidents as Celtic fought back, and despite a stunning belter of a goal by Denis Diac, it was Rangers who edged it 4-3 in the end. Celtic's other goals were a brace from Gavin Peters. 3-4
