After a 2 week Easter break Celtic were back in action. On a glorious Saturday morning they welcomed their old rivals Templeogue Utd. Previous encounters between the two teams have seen some good games and cracking goals and today's game didn't disappoint either.
The guests came to play football and show everyone present at the game they mean business. They played some brilliant football and caused Celtic problems on the right flank. One of those moves resulted in Templeogue taking a lead 0-1. That goal seemed to wake Celtic up and they began to create chances. Unfortunately those chances were wasted. After a good spell of 15 minutes or so for Celtic and some great opportunities missed, things got even worse for hosts. Somehow, a ball that was meant to be a cross into the box ended up in the back of the net, 0-2.
Celtic responded very quickly and after a few good moves in the midfield by Robert Best and Dino Dervisic, Shaun Odusole was put through one on one with the keeper and he placed the ball in the back of the net which left the home side trailing 1-2 at the break.
Second half, Celtic started on the front foot. Alex McCormick, Ciaran Murray and Olti Berisha combined very well to create chances for James Caffrey and Shaun. Finally those chances resulted in Shaun scoring his second of the match for 2-2 .Soon after that James put Celtic in front with a great solo effort, 3-2. Suddenly, the tough Templeogue defence started to look shaky. At the other end of the pitch, heroic defending by the ever-solid back four of Sam Doherty, Proinsias de Bhatuin, Kacem Touihri and Luka ensured there were no more breaches of the home defence. As the game entered the last 15 minutes, nerves started to show. Sabin Ghet in the goal had to pull off some great saves to keep Celtic in front. Templeogue were pushing everyone forward in search of the equaliser but without success. One of those attacks was quickly followed by a counter-attack where Liam Hosford combined with Ciaran Murray to create a chance for James Caffrey, who again made no mistake to put his side 4-2 ahead. A great performance by Celtic and very good football played by both teams, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the supporters present. The Celts are marching on!
