In what was possibly one of the most physical matches seen in Porterstown in a long time Castleknock had to settle for a share of the points against St Ita's Portrane.
Uncharacteristically, Celtic found themselves trailing by two goals after just 15 minutes. This was despite playing the far more attractive brand of football. However, heads didn’t drop and by half-time thanks to goals from Cian Rush, Cory Power and Ciaran Buggy, Celtic led 3-2 at half time.
Despite warnings during the half time break, Celtic fell victim to the long ball twice in the first 15 minutes of the second half, the second of which was clearly offside and once again Celtic were chasing the game. It took several yellow cards before the Referee eventually showed a red card to a St Ita’s player for violent conduct.
Celtic eventually got an equaliser 15 minutes from the end when substitute Shane McDonagh scored with a shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Despite dominating possession for the last 15 minutes, Celtic couldn’t get the winner and had to settle for a draw which brought their 5 match winning run to an end. more match action
